Rainy Start, Sunny End to the Day

Woke up to the sound of rain - not what we had ordered! It didn't last for long and by the time we got out of the door for a walk down to explore the local beach it had all dried up. Still overcast and cloudy though.

The local river reaches the sea down by this beach - we named it the River Moly, in the absence of definitive information!

The skies gradually brightened - this was the view of Molyvos from the beach, along with the local digger.

Walked up to the town and found the Meeting Hall, a former mosque as indicated by the Arabic script over the door.

After lunch we went back to Eftalou to explore along the beach there some more. Lots of broom in flower there as on most of the island - see great yellow swathes as we drive around.

We went into Olive Wood Crafts there and spent quite a while talking to the couple there. They moved to Lesbos from Bristol 13 years ago so we picked their brains about living in Greece, and enjoyed a cup of green tea in their outside space.

Afterwards we walked on past the hot springs and found a better beach complete with taverna (unfortunately not yet open, but maybe this weekend). This sign wasn't at the very end if the beach, and just over a few rocks was another lovely bay.

We reckoned that British walkers have been this way, so added our own stones to the stack.

It had turned into a beautiful late afternoon/ early evening by this stage, as we turned and headed back to the car.

Impressed by this window prop at the Eftalou Hot Springs.

Just back from another delicious meal at the Captains Table in the harbour. Full tummies and sleepy now!

This day a year ago, Su had been gardening most of the day and showed this picture of our back garden in the rain.
